A New Favorite Mountain

Last weekend, Scott's family (including the newest member, me!) went skiing at Mt. Rose in Tahoe. This mountain was a favorite of theirs when Scott and his brother, Kevin, were growing up. While their family used to ski together a lot, it had been about 4 or 5 years since their last trip.

I, of course, had just been on one ski excursion, and had a blast. So naturally, I was very excited to go again! We had a wonderful weekend, staying in a condo, watching movies, doing puzzles, and cooking together. Here are some highlights from our long day of skiing on Saturday!

The brothers were excited to go...

The views from the top were spectacular!

We stopped to enjoy them several times. :)

I can't lie, my husband has some skills!

The rest of us got ready to head down...

I went down lightly, but it took a long time (and a pull from Scott) to get back up!

After that snafu, I was much more confident and improved throughout the day.

Kevin (our family photographer) was tired by the end...

... and so were we! But it was fun!

  2. Awesome...though...i do feel like lecturing you that you should be wearing a helmut. Not that I ever have. But I can't ski and have vowed to never go again. Just be careful!! :)

  3. Thanks, Stumpy! It WAS fun!

Stef- you're right. A friend gave me really good advice, and said that the helmet is not necessarily because you're going to go crashing into a tree on a black diamond, but because you never know who might hit you from behind (and you have no control over that). He was right, and so are you!
